Tupelo faced Horn Lake in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Golden Wave put the hurt on the Eagles with a sharp  38-13 win. The result was nothing new for the Golden Wave, who have now won five games by 21  points or more  so far this season.
Tupelo got their  victory on the backs of several key players, but it was  Braylen Williams out in front who rushed for 80 yards and a pair of  touchdowns, and also threw for 83 yards and one  TD. Another rusher making a difference was  Jaeden Hill, who gained 115 total yards and a touchdown.

Tupelo pushed their record up to 8-1 with the  win, which was their third straight  at home. The  home  victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 11.0 points on average over those games. As for Horn Lake, their loss dropped their record down to 5-3.
 Tupelo wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  contest,  a  49-0  win against Lewisburg on the 30th. As for Horn Lake, they also didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next  matchup,  a  31-14  victory against Southaven on the 31st.
