Basketball Recap: Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont Extends Winning Streak to Nine

Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They took their game with ease, bagging a 60-16 victory over the Chariton Chargers. Given the Rockets' advantage in MaxPreps' Iowa basketball rankings (they are ranked 11th, while the Chargers are ranked 175th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-0. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.0 points per game. As for Chariton, their loss dropped their record down to 2-4.

Eddyville-Blakesburg-Fremont and Oskaloosa will face off at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday without much rest having both just played. As for Chariton, they will have a little extra prep time after the defeat as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Centerville at 6:00 p.m. on January 3, 2025.
