The Spencer Greenwave can now show off eight landslide victories after their most recent matchup on Friday. They claimed a resounding 78-44 win over Academy for Classical Education at home. The victory was nothing new for Spencer as they're now sitting on six straight.
Leading Spencer to victory were Izaian Rosegreen and Gary Gaither. Rosegreen dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds, while Gaither scored nine points along with 12 rebounds and eight assists. That's the first time this season that Gaither posted eight or more assists. The team also got some help courtesy of Joe Dozier, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Academy for Classical Education's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Kanyin Oni, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and 12 rebounds, and Bryson Vincent who scored 16 points along with five rebounds and three steals. Oni has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last four times he's played. Another player making a difference was Kaleb Scarbary, who scored seven points along with five rebounds.
Spencer pushed their record up to 14-1 with that win, which was their 19th straight at home. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 30.89 points. As for Academy for Classical Education, they are on a nine-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-12.
Spencer won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Cairo at 4:30 p.m. on January 20th. Cairo is strutting with some offensive muscle, as they've averaged 59.6 points per game. As for Academy for Classical Education, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Northeast at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
