Meanwhile, Clovis narrowly escaped with a  win as the  squad sidled past Carlsbad  3-2. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Cavemen/Cavegirls recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive  victory against them.
 Clovis had a slow start but a hot finish: after dropping the first two sets, they turned around to win the next three. The match finished with set scores of 20-25, 16-25, 25-22, 26-24,  15-9.
 Hobbs' win bumped their record up to 8-13. As for Clovis,  the  victory  got them back to even at 10-10.
 Hobbs skirted past Clovis  3-2 in their previous meeting  two weeks ago. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Eagles since the  team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
