4A Region 4 recap Oct. 30, 2012
Noxubee County extended the longest winning streak in 4A Region 4 this week by beating Caledonia, 34-7. The victory was the 11th in a row for the team.
Louisville took down Leake Central 44-7 last week, the largest margin of any game. Wyatt Roberts threw for 109 yards and three touchdowns and ran for seven yards in the win.
Brandon Townsend was the best wideout in the league this week as Houston beat Kosciusko. Townsend racked up five receptions for 109 yards. Quan Brand helped Houston's passing attack out by catching two balls for 38 yards.
Sharone Wright provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Hilltoppers topped the Whippets. He completed eight passes for 164 yards and also ran for 59 yards.
Cass Love was the most productive running back in the league this week. He ran for 161 yards on 12 carries as the Wildcats defeated Kosciusko. Teammate Travian Hudson added to the ground attack by rushing for 53 yards.
Louisville's Roberts and Desmond Goss have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 4A Region 4 in both passing and receiving yards. Roberts has thrown for 2329 yards this season, while Goss, a 5-foot-10 receiver, has 51 catches for 879 yards. Noxubee County's Darrell Robinson leads the league in rushing yards with 1408.
Love of the M.C. Miller's team is only 28 yards short of surpassing 1,000 rushing yards for the season. In 161 carries Love has accumulated 972 yard this year.
The Wildcats led the league in scoring this week after putting up 44 points on the Gators Roberts in the win.
