The Pillager Huskies lost against the Henning Hornets back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. Pillager lost to Henning at home by a decisive 69-53 margin. Pillager has not had much luck with Henning recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.
Pillager's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Christian Hooge, who dropped a double-double on 26 points and 14 rebounds, and Parker Schaefer who scored 15 points along with six rebounds.
Pillager's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 7-8. As for Henning, they are on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 16-3 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Pillager will take on Proctor at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday. Proctor is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Henning, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Long Prairie-Grey Eagle at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. Long Prairie-Grey Eagle has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games.
