Beamer and Kentlake are an even 3-3 against one another since March of 2015, but likely not for long. The Titans will welcome the Falcons at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Beamer has given up an average of 16.3 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Monday just wasn't the day for Beamer's offense. They came up short against Auburn Mountainview on Monday, falling 18-0. The defeat continues a trend for the Titans in their meetings with the Lions: they've now lost seven in a row.
Beamer saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Asialynn Solia, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two doubles.
Kentlake couldn't beat Decatur on Friday even though they stacked six runs on them in the first inning. The Falcons fell just short of the Golden Gators by a score of 9-8. The Falcons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Riley Linnane was huge no matter where she played even without the win. She struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit (and only one walk). She has been consistent recently: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.
In other batting news, Hi'Ilei Gomes made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Soliesa Cruz, who got on base in three of her four plate appearances with one run and one RBI.
Kentlake's loss dropped their record down to 6-5. As for Beamer, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-10.
Wednesday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Beamer has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .482. However, it's not like Kentlake struggles in that department as they've averaged .504. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Beamer suffered a grim 15-4 defeat to Kentlake when the teams last played back in March of 2024. Will the Titans have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other softball content.
