It was a good run, but the Raft River Trojans unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 51-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Butte County. While losing is never fun, Raft River can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Idaho basketball rankings (they are ranked 128th, while Butte County is ranked 45th).
Leading Butte County to victory were Brody Westergard and Koden Krosch. Westergard scored 15 points along with six assists and three steals, while Krosch dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten rebounds. Westergard has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last eight times he's played. Rafe McAffee was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with three steals.
Raft River dropped their record down to 4-14 with that loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Butte County, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matches, which provided a nice bump to their 16-4 record this season.
Raft River will head out on the road to square off against Glenns Ferry at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Raft River is facing Glenns Ferry at the right time seeing as Glenns Ferry is stuck on a six-game losing streak. As for Butte County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Challis at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
