The Millburn Millers will finish 2023 at home by hosting the Governor Livingston Highlanders at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. Hopefully Millburn focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 23 on Wednesday.
Millburn unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak. They took a 63-51 hit to the loss column at the hands of Newark Collegiate Academy. Millburn has struggled against Newark Collegiate Academy recently, as their game on Wednesday was their third consecutive lost matchup.
Noah Ravitz put forth a good effort for the losing side as he scored 21 points along with eight rebounds and six assists. The game was his fourth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chase Plotkin, who scored 11 points along with six rebounds.
Meanwhile, Governor Livingston put another one in the bag on Friday to keep their perfect season alive. They managed a 52-47 win over High Point.
Millburn's defeat dropped their record down to 3-1. As for Governor Livingston, they pushed their record up to 4-0 with that victory, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Everything came up roses for Millburn against Governor Livingston in their previous meeting back in February of 2017 as the team secured a 76-32 win. Does Millburn have another victory up their sleeve, or will Governor Livingston turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
