The Mount Dora Hurricanes's game on Tuesday was a tough loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They came out on top against Cornerstone Charter Academy by a score of 42-34.
Several Ducks players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Olivia Hancock, who scored 10 points. Another player making a difference was Aalisha Jackson, who scored 8 points.
The victory got Mount Dora back to even at 1-1. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to an identical 1-1.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mount Dora won't have much time to rest: their next match is against Umatilla at 6:00 p.m. on December 1st. As for Cornerstone Charter Academy, they will head out on the road to face off against The First Academy at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hopefully The First Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 on Tuesday.
