The Athens Wildcats came out on top against the Wyalusing Valley Rams by a score of 44-35 on Monday thanks in part to Shultz, who went 5 for 7 on his way to 14 points. The team also got some help courtesy of James Friend, who posted nine points along with five blocks and four steals. He has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last six times he's played.

Athens has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 6-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.2 points per game. As for Wyalusing Valley, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last nine games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-15 record this season.
Athens didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 51-31 victory against Sayre on the 29th. Wyalusing Valley has also already played their next matchup, a 66-60 defeat against Cowanesque Valley on the 29th.
