After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Del Sol, the Awaken Christian Lions were happy to have found some success on Friday. They came out on top against Mountain View Christian by a score of 38-31. That's another feather in the cap for Awaken Christian, who also won these teams' last head-to-head.
Kailee Dias was the offensive standout of the matchup as she dropped a double-double on 18 points and 14 rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Blane Shimelise, who scored 6 points.
Awaken Christian's win bumped their record up to 3-1. As for Mountain View Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2.
Awaken Christian will be staying on the road on Saturday to face off against Indian Springs at 1:30 p.m. on December 2nd. Mountain View Christian will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on American Heritage Academy at 4:00 p.m. on January 3, 2024.
