Softball Recap: Harvest Community Has No Trouble Against Morningside Academy

Harvest Community's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Saturday. Everything went their way against the Morningside Academy Eagles as they made off with a 14-6 win. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 14 contests by eight runs or more so far this season.

Julia Foti was a standout: she scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of her plate appearances. Marley Elliott was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of her five plate appearances.

Harvest Community's victory bumped their record up to 16-4. As for Morningside Academy, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 13-3.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Harvest Community will welcome Parsons Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. The timing is sure in the Warriors' favor as the team sits on 12 straight wins at home (dating back to last season) while the Lions have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. As for Morningside Academy, they will host South Fork at 3:00 p.m. on Monday. The Bulldogs' pitching crew has only allowed 4.1 runs per game this season, so the Eagles' hitters will have their work cut out for them.
