After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Spain Park, UMS-Wright Prep was happy to have turned things around on Saturday. They put the hurt on the Foley Lions with a sharp 10-0 win. The Bulldogs have beaten the Lions the last four times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Lions has come to flipping the script.
Andy Purvis tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run and allowed only two hits while striking out eight over five innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't tossed less than eight strikeouts in three consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, UMS-Wright Prep let Sam Davis and Manning Amorde run wild. Davis scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-3, while Amorde scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-3.
