After a string of three wins, the Tolono Unity Rockets's good fortune finally ran out on Saturday. They took a 45-29 bruising from Pleasant Plains. The match was a 24-24 toss-up at halftime, but Tolono Unity couldn't quite close it out.
Despite the defeat, Tolono Unity had strong showings from Addison Ray, who scored 11 points along with five rebounds, and Raegen Stringer, who scored ten points along with five assists and two steals. That was a full 34.5% of Tolono Unity's points, marking the fifth time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points.
Tolono Unity struggled to get the ball back on offense and finished the game with only three offensive rebounds. That's the fewest offensive rebounds they've managed all season.
Tolono Unity's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 16-10. As for Pleasant Plains, they pushed their record up to 19-6 with that win, which was their seventh straight at home.
Tolono Unity will take on Warrensburg-Latham at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Warrensburg-Latham has now lost eight straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since January 6. As for Pleasant Plains, they will head out on the road to square off against Auburn at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Auburn will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Illinois Rankings (they are ranked 363rd, while Pleasant Plains is ranked 61st).
