After a string of four wins, the Owatonna Huskies's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They took a hard 67-51 fall against Mayo. The result was an unpleasant reminder to Owatonna of the 62-39 defeat they experienced in the two teams' previous head-to-head fixture back in December of 2023.
Maryn Pool and Jersey Coleman certainly did their best on Tuesday to try and avoid the loss. Pool scored 16 points along with four steals, while Coleman scored 12 points along with five rebounds. Another player making a difference was Carsyn Brady, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Owatonna now has a losing record at 8-9. As for Mayo, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Owatonna will face off against Hastings at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Hastings is coming into the contest hot, having won their last four games. As for Mayo, they will head out on the road to take on Faribault at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. The timing isn't great for Faribault: they have been struggling with six straight losses at home, while Mayo has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
