The Spanish Fort Toros fell on hard times earlier this season, but after back-to-back victories it seems like their luck might finally be changing. They walked away with a 65-54 win over Robertsdale on Tuesday. This was payback for Spanish Fort, who suffered a 50-46 defeat the last time these two teams met.
Despite the loss, Robertsdale still got an impressive performance from Mallorie Rothe, who dropped a double-double on 24 points and 13 rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Rothe has scored all season. Shaunte Sanders was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on ten points and ten rebounds.
Spanish Fort's win bumped their record up to 6-17. As for Robertsdale, they have traveled a rocky road recently, as they've lost three of their last four games, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-12 record this season.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Spanish Fort will take on McGill-Toolen at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. McGill-Toolen has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last three games. As for Robertsdale, they will be playing at home against Baldwin County at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Baldwin County is hoping to put an end to a three-game streak of away losses.
