Marcellus is 8-1 against Cazenovia since April of 2016 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Saturday. The Mustangs will take on the Lakers at 1:00 p.m. Marcellus is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season.
Marcellus will roll into the game after a wild two-game stretch: they didn't score any runs last Friday, then bounced right back against Jordan-Elbridge on Thursday. The Mustangs blew past the Eagles 11-1. The Mustangs haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Kendall LaManche was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out 11 batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in five consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season.
In other batting news, Millie Novitsky and Maddy Richer did most of the damage at the plate: Novitsky went 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI, while Richer went 1-for-3 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. That stolen base marked the first that Richer has snagged this season. Jordan O'Connor was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs and one RBI.
Marcellus was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .382. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Jordan-Elbridge only posted a batting average of .167.
Meanwhile, Cazenovia might've scored the first runs on Thursday, but it was Christian Brothers Academy who claimed the real prize. The Lakers fell just short of the Brothers by a score of 6-5.
Like Marcellus, Cazenovia also got a great game from a two-way player: Irie Gallerani. On the mound, she struck out ten batters over 6.1 innings while giving up just two earned (and four unearned) runs off seven hits (and only one walk). Gallerani was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.
In other batting news, Sophie Wilmot made the most of her time at bat despite the final result and went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Caitee Fenton, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Marcellus' victory bumped their record up to 6-2-1. As for Cazenovia, their defeat dropped their record down to 5-5.
Cazenovia's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Marcellus hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .361. It's a different story for Cazenovia, though, as they've only averaged .208. Will they be able to contain Marcellus' hitters?
Everything went Marcellus' way against Cazenovia in their previous matchup back in April, as Marcellus made off with a 12-0 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Mustangs since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
