Bowie is 0-6 against Lake Travis since October of 2014 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Thursday. The Bowie Bulldogs will be playing at home against the Lake Travis Cavaliers at 7:30 p.m. Bowie will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Texas Rankings (they are ranked 356th, while Lake Travis is ranked 50th).
Bowie fell victim to Westlake's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a serious blow against the Chaparrals, falling 62-0. Having soared to a lofty 56 points in the game before, Bowie couldn't push the score so high this time.
Meanwhile, Lake Travis put the finishing touches on their fifth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They really took it to Austin for the full four quarters, racking up a 62-14 victory at home. The contest was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 45-0.
Chaston Ditta was the offensive standout of the contest as he threw for 161 yards and three touchdowns, and also punched in a touchdown on the ground. Dylan Cullers was another key contributor, picking up 120 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Bowie now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Lake Travis, their win bumped their record up to 7-2.
Bowie took a serious blow against Lake Travis in their previous matchup back in October of 2021, falling 52-21. Thankfully for Bowie, Bo Edmundson (who threw for 323 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 11.1 yards per attempt) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
