After flying high against the South Aiken Thoroughbreds on Saturday, the Olympic Trojans came back down to earth. Olympic fell just short of East Gaston by a score of 63-60. Despite running the score up even higher than they did on Saturday (59), Olympic still had to take the loss.
Despite the loss, Olympic still got an impressive performance from RANDY JOHNSON, who scored 28 points. JOHNSON scored a full 46.7% of Olympic's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was DEANGELO HALL, who scored six points along with seven steals.
Even though they lost, Olympic were working as a unit and finished the game with 20 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
Olympic's loss was their third straight at home, which bumped their record down to 2-7. That rough patch can't be blamed on the team's offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 54.0 points per game. As for East Gaston, the win got them back to even at 3-3.
Olympic will take on Niagara Falls in a holiday battle at 5:30 p.m. on December 21st at. East Gaston is on the road again on Friday and play against Bonnie Cone Leadership Academy at 6:00 p.m. on December 15th.
