The Canon City Tigers will challenge the Rampart Rams at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. Canon City is coming into the contest hot, having won their last six games.
Canon City is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Everything went their way against Coronado on Thursday as they made off with a 23-4 victory. Considering the Tigers have won nine games by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.
Peter Hershberger made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and three unearned) runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in two of his four plate appearances with two runs and one stolen base.

In other batting news, Trey Schumacher was incredible, going 4-for-5 with one home run, nine RBI, and four runs. Those nine RBI gave him a new career-high. Cam Roberts was another key player, getting on base in all five of his plate appearances with four runs, two RBI, and one double.
Canon City hit smart and finished the game with only one strikeout. The team has now struck out at least five batters in six consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Rampart, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Thursday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Vista Ridge a 2-0 shutout on Friday.
Like Canon City, Rampart also got a great game from a two-way player: Vince Carpio. He looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out nine over seven innings pitched. Carpio was also big at the plate, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one double.
Canon City's win bumped their record up to 18-3. As for Rampart, they now have a winning record of 11-10.
Rampart's pitching crew better be locked in on Saturday. Canon City hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. It's a different story for Rampart, though, as they've been averaging only 0 home runs. Will they be able to keep Canon City in the park?
Canon City suffered a grim 15-6 defeat to Rampart in their previous meeting back in May of 2025. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
