The St. Francis Red Raiders and the Cardinal Hayes Cardinals squared off in some playoff action on Saturday, but sadly the St. Francis Red Raiders had to settle for second. They took a 40-22 bruising from the Cardinals. St. Francis' loss signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.
When it comes to explaining why St. Francis lost, one person who can't be blamed is Terrence Pendergrass. Despite the final result, he rushed for 123 yards and a touchdown, and also picked up 61 receiving yards.
Even if they lost, St. Francis' defensive line still kept up the pressure with four sacks. Cardinal Hayes' QB won't forget Michael Harris anytime soon given Harris sacked him twice.
St. Francis now has a losing record at 5-6. As for Cardinal Hayes, they pushed their record up to 12-2 with that victory, which was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season.
St. Francis does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Cardinal Hayes also has no future games currently scheduled.
