They walked away with a 71-59 win over Cornerstone Prep Academy. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Cornerstone Prep Academy lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Simeon Greene, who dropped a double-double on 14 points and 11 rebounds. Greene's trending in the right direction, as he's improved his point production for three games straight. Ben Cobb was another key contributor, scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds.
Cherokee Christian's win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 77.0 points per game. As for Cornerstone Prep Academy, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-8.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cherokee Christian will face off against The King's Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Cornerstone Prep Academy, they will head out on the road to take on Johnson Ferry Christian Academy at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday.
