The Mandarin Mustangs waltzed into their match on Wednesday with five straight wins but they left with six. They walked away with a 68-59 win over Fletcher. That's two games straight that Mandarin has won by exactly nine points.
Several Senators players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was McCarthy Crenshaw, who scored 19 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Crenshaw has scored all season. The team also got some help courtesy of Ryder Kay, who scored 15 points along with eight rebounds and two blocks.
Mandarin is on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 14-5 record this season. As for Fletcher, they bumped their record down to 8-11 with that loss, which was their third straight at home.
Mandarin will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Ribault at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Hopefully Ribault focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 12 on Wednesday. As for Fletcher, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Creekside at 7:00 p.m. Hopefully Creekside focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 13 on Tuesday.
