Softball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Brooke Black and Amaiah Meyer Lead Labelle to Victory

LaBelle not only won on Friday, but they posted their biggest win since March 11th. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Clewiston Tigers a 15-0 shutout. The win continues a trend for the Cowboys/Cowgirls in their matchups with the Tigers: they've now won eight in a row.

LaBelle let Amaiah Meyer and Brooke Black run wild. Meyer scored two runs and stole two bases while going 2-for-4, while Black scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. That's the most runs Black has posted since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Payton Crews, who went 1-for-2 with three RBI.

LaBelle always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .533. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Clewiston only posted an OBP of .312.

LaBelle's record now sits at 7-9. As for Clewiston, their loss was their 16th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-10.

LaBelle didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next contest, a 10-0 victory against Moore Haven on the 9th. As for Clewiston, they also wasted no time getting back out on the field and have already played their next game, a 17-1 defeat against Oxbridge Academy on the 8th.
