The Ramona Convent Tigers will challenge the Mark Keppel Aztecs at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Ramona Convent barely beat Bishop Conaty-Loretto the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Tigers were the clear victors by an 8-1 margin over the Wildcats on Thursday. The victory continues a trend for the Tigers in their matchups with the Wildcats: they've now won five in a row.

Madison Garcia was a major factor while hitting and pitching. She struck out seven batters over seven innings while giving up just one earned run off seven hits (and not a single walk). That's the most strikeouts she has posted since back in February. She was also big at the plate, going 3-for-4 with one triple and one RBI.
In other batting news, Delicia Murillo was incredible, going 3-for-4 with three stolen bases and two runs. Abigail Vazquez was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, one run, and one double.
Ramona Convent kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 15 hits. They are 12-1 when they post 11 or more hits.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Mark Keppel, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Bell Gardens a 16-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-scoring effort was just what the Aztecs needed considering they were shut out in their previous game.
Like Ramona Convent, Mark Keppel also got a great game from a two-way player: Robyn Guitron. She looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out 11 over five innings pitched. Guitron was also stellar in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with five RBI and two doubles.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Avigail Navarro, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with four runs, three RBI, and one double. Another player making a difference was Sarah Lucero, who went 3-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.
Ramona Convent's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 16-7. Those road victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games. As for Mark Keppel, their win bumped their record up to 13-6.
Monday's match will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Ramona Convent hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .461. However, it's not like Mark Keppel struggles in that department as they've averaged .420. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Ramona Convent suffered a grim 12-2 defeat to Mark Keppel in their previous matchup back in February of 2023. Will the Tigers have more luck at home instead of on the road? Check back here after the action for a full breakdown and analysis of the contest.
