The Breathitt County Bobcats pushed their score all the way to 92 on Monday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell to Harlan 98-92. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Saturday (89), Breathitt County still had to take the loss.
Breathitt County lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Jaxon Hamilton, who dropped a triple-double on 14 points, ten rebounds, and ten assists. Hamilton is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as he's now pulled down eight or more in the last three games he's played. Austin Sperry was another key contributor, scoring 22 points along with eight assists and seven rebounds.
Breathitt County has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 12-7 record this season. As for Harlan, their win bumped their record up to 4-12.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Breathitt County won't have much time to rest: their next match is against the Bulldogs / Lady Bulldogs at 7:30 p.m. on January 30th. Hazard will be looking to extend their current three-game winning streak. As for Harlan, they will be playing at home against the Patriots at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Knott County Central is looking to tack on another W to their six-game streak on the road.
