Football Recap: Coral Springs Charter Takes a Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Coral Springs Charter can now relate to. They fell just short of the David Posnack Jewish Day Rams by a score of 14-12 on Wednesday. The Panthers gained 282 more yards on the day, but it was the Rams that made the best use of them.

Despite the defeat, Coral Springs Charter saw an underclassman step up: freshman Ali Rodriquez threw for 330 yards and two TDs while picking up 13.2 yards per attempt, and also rushed for 70 yards on only seven carries. Those 330 passing yards set a new season-high mark for Rodriquez. 140 of Rodriquez's passing yards were hauled in by Eva Rodriquez, who also brought in a receiving touchdown.

Coral Springs Charter is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 6-4. As for David Posnack Jewish Day, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

David Posnack Jewish Day wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 19-13 victory against Chaminade-Madonna on the 16th. Hopefully Coral Springs Charter paid attention to the Rams' game: the next time they hit the field, they'll take on the Rams at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
