Basketball Recap: Jordan Extends Winning Streak to Four

Jordan waltzed into their matchup on Tuesday with three straight wins... but they left with four. They walked away with a 50-37 victory over the Murray Spartans. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 45-35 back in December of 2024.

Jordan's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was June Joseph, who posted eight points and 17 boards. The dominant performance gave Joseph a new career-high in rebounds. Felita Tauvao was another key player, going 6 of 8 on her way to 12 points and five boards.

Jordan was working as a unit and finished the game with 12 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Murray's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Brooklyn Richter, who went 6 for 11 en route to 12 points and five rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlotte Scherbel, who put up ten points.

Jordan is on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 29.9 points per game. As for Murray, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost eight of their last ten games, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-12 record this season.

Coincidentally, Jordan and Murray will both be playing Cottonwood the next time they take the court. Jordan will head out to face Cottonwood at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, while Murray will host them at 5:15 p.m. on January 28th.
