Haverford is a perfect 6-0 against Marple Newtown since April of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Friday. The Fords will square off against the Fightin' Tigers at 3:45 p.m. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Marple Newtown will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Haverford extended their winning streak to four on Thursday. The Fords didn't even let Central Bucks East on the board, marking the Fords' second-straight 10-0 shutout.
Ali Daly made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run and allowing only two hits while striking out six over five innings pitched. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in nine consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 1-for-1 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Brenna Carfrey, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI and one triple. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high. Lucy Ardizzi was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and two RBI.
Haverford always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .542. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Central Bucks East only posted an OBP of .167.
Meanwhile, while Marple Newtown put up some runs on Wednesday, the same can't be said for Lower Merion. The Fightin' Tigers put the hurt on the Aces with a sharp 10-0 win. The victory was nothing new for the Fightin' Tigers as they're now sitting on six straight.
Marple Newtown also got a great performance from Ally Snyder as she didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out seven over five innings pitched.
At the plate, Kaya Dezzi was incredible, going a perfect 2-for-2 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI. Another player making a difference was Bella Vadino, who went 1-for-2 with two RBI.
Marple Newtown pushed their record up to 17-2 with the win, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.8 runs over those games. As for Haverford, their record now sits at 17-4-1.
Haverford's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Fords have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Marple Newtown, though, as they've been averaging only 1.2 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Haverford continue to outrun the ball?
Haverford skirted past Marple Newtown 2-0 in their previous matchup back in April. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Fords since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
