Baseball Recap: Ryder Mcnabb and Fenn Mackedon Secure Win for Oasis Academy

Oasis Academy was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Pershing County on Wednesday. The Bighorns never let the Mustangs get on the board and left with an 8-0 victory. The result was nothing new for the Bighorns, who have now won 11 contests by six runs or more so far this season.

Fenn Mackedon and Ryder McNabb made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, Mackedon pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. Meanwhile, McNabb pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Mackedon has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 12 consecutive appearances. At bat, Mackedon went 3-for-4 with one triple, one run, and one double, while McNabb went 2-for-5 with four RBI, one run, and one double. That's the most RBI McNabb has posted since back in April of 2024.

In other batting news, Zachary Budner was excellent, scoring a run while going 3-for-4. Another player making a difference was James Thibodaux, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.

Oasis Academy was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .459. That was just more of the same: they've now posted a batting average of .344 or higher in three consecutive games.

Oasis Academy's record now sits at 13-3. As for Pershing County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 5-11.

Oasis Academy will have a chance to go back-to-back against the Mustangs: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
