Basketball Recap: Overland Falls Despite Big Games from Demetrius Lambert and Dontae Graham

Overland was the 72-49 winner over Grandview when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Overland Trailblazers fell 65-53 to the Grandview Wolves on Wednesday. The Trailblazers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Overland's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Dontae Graham, who almost dropped a double-double on 15 points and nine rebounds, and Demetrius Lambert, who went 6 for 12 on his way to 16 points and five boards. Those 16 points gave Lambert a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Tj Manuel, who posted five points.

Grandview's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Breven Anderson led the charge by going 6 of 15 en route to 15 points along with five assists and five rebounds. Trevor Thomas was another key player, going 5 for 9 on his way to 15 points and seven boards.

Overland's defeat dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Grandview, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 10-8.

Overland will be playing at home against Cherokee Trail at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Overland is facing Cherokee Trail at the right time seeing as Cherokee Trail is stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Grandview, they will head out on the road to face off against Smoky Hill at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Grandview's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 11 contests.
