Myers Park's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ayo Awosanya, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and ten rebounds. The dominant performance also gave Awosanya a new career-high in assists (five). Bram Early was another key player, going 6 of 12 on his way to 15 points and six boards.
Myers Park was working as a unit and finished the game with 22 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Ardrey Kell only racked up eight assists.
Meanwhile, Olympic posted their closest victory since December 14, 2024 on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Palisades, sneaking past 67-64. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Trojans.
Olympic's win came from a few key players Myers Park will need to keep an eye on. One of the most notable was JD Terrell, who posted 16 points along with eight assists and three steals. He has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Maurice Sabb, who went 7 for 9 en route to 19 points and five rebounds.
Myers Park has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 11-10 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 70.2 points per game. As for Olympic, their win bumped their record up to 15-5.
Friday's contest will pit two of the most dominant guards against one another: Early and Terrell. Early has been dynamite this season: he has averaged 16.3 points, 1.9 steals, and 2.9 assists. For his part, Terrell has averaged 12.5 points, 1.3 steals, and 4.3 assists.
