Birch Run is 0-10 against the Eagles since March of 2020 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Birch Run Panthers will head out on the road to take on the Frankenmuth Eagles at 7:00 p.m. Birch Run will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Michigan Rankings (they are ranked 511th, while the Eagles are ranked 128th).
Last Friday, Birch Run had to suffer through a rough 65-30 loss at the hands of the Dukes.
Meanwhile, Frankenmuth put the finishing touches on their sixth blowout victory of the season on Friday. They simply couldn't be stopped as they easily beat Swan Valley 67-22 at home. With Frankenmuth ahead 38-11 at the half, the game was all but over already.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Frankenmuth to victory, but perhaps none more so than Carson Knoll, who scored 17 points along with two steals. Knoll has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last five times he's played. Ethan Edwards was another key contributor, scoring 15 points.
Birch Run's loss dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Frankenmuth, they pushed their record up to 10-5 with that win, which was their third straight at home.
Birch Run might still be hurting after the 49-29 loss they got from the Eagles in their previous matchup back in January. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Knoll, who scored 15 points. Now that Birch Run knows the damage he can cause, will they be able to stop him this time?
