Basketball Recap: Nikeese Doss' Big Game Can't Quite Lead Baldwin over Temple Christian Academy

Baldwin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-48 heartbreaker at the hands of Temple Christian Academy.

Baldwin's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Nikeese Doss, who dropped a double-double on ten points and 12 boards. That's the most rebounds Doss has posted since back in February of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Jordin Goodrich, who posted 11 points.

Temple Christian Academy's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but JaCere Green led the charge by putting up 17 points. Daiyon Williams was another key player, posting seven points and 13 rebounds.

Baldwin's defeat dropped their record down to 2-10. As for Temple Christian Academy, they moved to 4-8 with that victory, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Baldwin will head out to take on Bradford at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Temple Christian Academy, they will venture away from home to square off against Covenant School of Jacksonville at 6:45 p.m. on Thursday. Temple Christian Academy is facing Covenant School of Jacksonville at the right time seeing as Covenant School of Jacksonville is stuck on a five-game losing streak.
