Mercyhurst Prep is on a five-game streak of home wins (dating back to last season), while Titusville is on a six-game streak of away wins (also dating back to last season): one of those streaks is about to end. The Lakers will welcome the Rockets at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday. Both squads will be entering this one on the heels of a big victory.
Mercyhurst Prep's pitching crew heads into the match hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They were the clear victors by a 13-0 margin over Seneca. That 13 run margin sets a new team best for the Lakers this season.
Josh Majczyk made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Majczyk was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base.

While Titusville didn't have the best season last year (they finished 8-13), it's starting to look like those struggles are a thing of the past. They put the hurt on Franklin with a sharp 19-3 win on Friday. The Rockets have beaten the Knights the last eight times they've met, but they better watch out: this was the closest the Knights has come to flipping the script.
Like Mercyhurst Prep, Titusville also got a great game from a two-way player: Hunter Obert. He tossed three innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits. Obert was even better at the plate, going 4-for-5 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Saturday's contest might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Mercyhurst Prep has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .459. However, it's not like Titusville struggles in that department as they've averaged .492. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Mercyhurst Prep's way against Titusville when the teams last played back in May of 2024, as Mercyhurst Prep made off with an 8-1 victory. Will the Lakers repeat their success, or do the Rockets have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
