Gospel Light Christian pushed their score all the way to 58 on Friday, but even that wasn't enough to win. They fell just short of Woodland Baptist Christian by a score of 60-58. It was the first time this season that Gospel Light Christian let down their fans at home.
Gospel Light Christian's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Samuel Sisk, who scored 18 points along with six assists, and Drake Walker who scored 18 points along with nine rebounds. Walker scored a full 31% of Gospel Light Christian's points, the fourth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Creed Coleman, who scored six points.
Gospel Light Christian's loss ended an 11-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 9-3. As for Woodland Baptist Christian, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 17-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Gospel Light Christian will challenge South Guilford HomeSchool at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. South Guilford HomeSchool has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games. As for Woodland Baptist Christian, they will head out on the road to face off against Vandalia Christian at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Vandalia Christian will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings (they are ranked 557th, while Woodland Baptist Christian is ranked 202nd).
