Park Crossing is 0-4 against Charles Henderson since February of 2015 but things could change on Thursday. The Park Crossing Thunderbirds will venture away from home to challenge the Charles Henderson Trojans at 4:00 p.m. Keep an eye on the score for this one: the two teams posted some lofty run totals in their previous games.
Charles Henderson will be up against a hot Park Crossing squad: the team just extended their winning streak to five. Park Crossing blew past Shades Valley 18-4 on Saturday. The Thunderbirds' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
The team relied heavily on I JOHNSON, who scored three runs and stole four bases while going 2-for-2. J MCGHEE was another key player, going 1-for-4 with five RBI, two runs, and one stolen base.
Park Crossing kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 11 hits. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Shades Valley onlymanaged three hits.
Meanwhile, Charles Henderson made easy work of Geneva on Tuesday and carried off a 13-3 win. With that victory, the Trojans brought their scoring average up to 6.5 runs per game.
Cole Pugh made a big impact while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he pitched three innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off one hit. What's more, he posted four strikeouts, the most he's had since back in February of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 2-for-5.
In other pitching news, Will Watkins looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just one earned run off two hits.
Back at the plate, Owen Pugh was excellent, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in runs. Another player making a difference was Chase Vaznaian, who scored a run while going 2-for-4.
Charles Henderson has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 3-3 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.3 runs over those games. Park Crossing's record now sits at 5-0.
