Tellico Plains barely beat Copper Basin the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Bears put the hurt on the Cougars with a sharp 18-3 victory on Friday. Caden Kirkland looked comfortable as he tossed three innings while giving up just two earned runs off two hits. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (five).
On the hitting side, Daren McJunkin was incredible, going 3-for-5 with one home run, six RBI, and four runs. As for Copper Basin, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Chattanooga School for the Liberal Arts at 5:00 p.m.
