The Severance Silver Knights came tearing into Wednesday's game with five straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.2 points) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 71-62 win over Thompson Valley. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
It was another big night for Brady Varney, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and ten rebounds. As a matter of fact, that's the most points he has scored all season. Jaden Hoffman was another key contributor, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds.
Severance is on a roll lately: they've won nine of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season. As for Thompson Valley, their defeat dropped their record down to 9-6.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Severance and Mountain View will face off at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. Hopefully Mountain View focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 27 last Tuesday. Thompson Valley won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Northridge at 7:00 p.m. on January 25th. Hopefully Northridge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 20 last Tuesday.
