Ernie Powers Turns in Season-Best Performance
Ernie Powers produced his most outstanding game to date while leading Franklin to the win on Friday. Powers rushed for 316 yards and two touchdowns while picking up 11.3 yards per carry, and also picked up 71 receiving yards and two touchdowns, good enough to set a new career-high in rushing yards in the process. That high mark didn't come from nowhere: he has now rushed for 138 or more in the last four games he's played dating back to last season.
Franklin pushed their record up to 4-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Powers and Franklin will look to defend their home field on Friday against Socorro at 7:30 p.m.

Big Game from Quarles As Pebble Hills Won 38-7
Zereian Quarles's rushing tear continued on Friday as he dropped his fifth-straight game with 127+ rushing yards dating back to last season. He rushed for 176 yards and three touchdowns while picking up 7.3 yards per carry. He showed off some serious burst, cutting through the defense on one rush that went for 50 yards.
This year, Quarles has run in 12 touchdowns while averaging 154.5 rushing yards per game. He's made a big improvement compared to last season: at this point last year, he had six rushing touchdowns.
