The Malad Dragons will head out on the road to face off against the Aberdeen Tigers at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday. Malad is no doubt hoping to put an end to a five-game streak of away losses.
Even though West Side scored an imposing 62 points on Tuesday, Malad still came out on top. Malad pulled ahead with a 63-62 photo finish over West Side.
Meanwhile, things could have been worse for Aberdeen, but they could have been a whole lot better as they took a 51-34 loss to Soda Springs on Tuesday. Aberdeen has now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.
Despite their defeat, Aberdeen saw several players rise to the challenge and make noteworthy plays. Griffin Knittel, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds and two blocks, was perhaps the best of all. Another player making a difference was Wesley Nelson, who scored five points along with five rebounds and three steals.
Malad's win bumped their record up to 5-15. As for Aberdeen, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost three of their last four contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-12 record this season.
Malad and Aberdeen were neck-and-neck in their previous matchup two weeks ago, but Malad came up empty-handed after a 47-46 loss. Can Malad avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
