The Willamina Bulldogs had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They skirted past Nestucca 43-41. That result was just more of the same for these two, as Willamina also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2022.
Willamina can attribute much of their success to Bayleigh Leno, who dropped a double-double on 10 points and 10 rebounds. Leno is absolutely dominating the steal category: she's posted at least two every time she's taken the court this season. The team also got some help courtesy of Zoie Sickles, who scored 7 points.
Willamina's win bumped their record up to 3-0. As for Nestucca, their loss dropped their record down to 2-1.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Willamina will take on Waldport at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Nestucca, they will stay at home for another game and welcome Toledo at 6:00 p.m. on December 11th.
