South Vermillion came out on top against Fountain Central by a score of 51-43. The victory made it back-to-back wins for South Vermillion.
South Vermillion's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brayson Shoults led the charge by dropping a double-double on 11 points and ten rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Aden Wallace, who scored eight points along with six assists and four steals.
When it comes to explaining why Fountain Central lost, one person who can't be blamed is Isaac Gayler. Despite the final result, he scored 21 points along with five rebounds. Will Harmon was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six rebounds.
South Vermillion's victory bumped their record up to 8-6. As for Fountain Central, they have not been sharp recently, as they've lost four of their last five matchups, which put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.
Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. South Vermillion will take on West Vigo at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Fountain Central won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Seeger at 7:30 p.m. on January 13th. Hopefully Seeger focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 last Saturday.
