The Prospect Knights will head out on the road to face off against the Buffalo Grove Bison at 4:45 p.m. on Monday. Prospect is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 6.2 runs per game this season.
If Prospect beats Buffalo Grove with nine runs on Monday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matchups with that exact score. The Knights were the clear victors by a 9-3 margin over Bartlett on Saturday. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Knights.

Evan Mantas looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in strikeouts (four).
On the hitting side, Louie Caldrone was incredible, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. Logan Nordentoft was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with three runs.
Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Buffalo Grove). Everything went their way against Warren Township on Saturday as they made off with a 12-6 win. The Bison not only won on Saturday, but they posted their biggest win since April 12th (when they won 7-0).
The team relied heavily on Jordan Dudek, who got on base in all four of his plate appearances with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Rocco Perricone, who went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Buffalo Grove always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .553. They are 3-1 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.
Prospect's victory was their seventh straight at home, which pushed their record up to 11-5-1. Those home wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.1 runs over those games. As for Buffalo Grove, their victory ended a five-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-13-2.
Buffalo Grove's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Prospect hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .339. It's a different story for Buffalo Grove, though, as they've only averaged .244. Will they be able to contain Prospect's hitters?
Prospect might still be hurting after the 11-1 loss they got from Buffalo Grove when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Can the Knights avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
