Springport has been on the road for three straight, but on Tuesday they'll finally head home. They will take on the Union City Chargers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Springport is not getting complacent, as they presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than the Chargers in Michigan (the Spartans are ranked 173rd, while the Chargers are ranked 634th).
Last Friday, Springport didn't have too much trouble with the Comets on the road as they won 45-26.
Maddux Locke continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 20 points along with seven rebounds and five assists. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Springport's points. Another player making a difference was Hope Overweg, who scored seven points along with 11 rebounds and two steals.
Meanwhile, Union City's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Saturday after their seventh straight defeat. They fell 56-43 to Reading.
Springport's win bumped their record up to 11-3. As for Union City, their loss was their fifth straight at home, which dropped their record down to 1-14.
Everything came up roses for Springport against the Chargers in their previous meeting back in December of 2023 as the team secured a 56-19 win. With Springport ahead 39-4 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
