The Delta Rabbits lost against the South Sevier Rams back in December of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. Delta fell just short of South Sevier by a score of 53-50. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Delta in their matchups with South Sevier: they've now lost eight in a row.
Delta lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Cai Henderson, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 13 rebounds. Henderson scored a full 32% of Delta's points, the fifth time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. Another player making a difference was Bronco Bundy, who scored 14 points.
Even though they lost, Delta were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 14 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as South Sevier only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Leading South Sevier to victory were Stockton Roberts and Jaggar Redd. Roberts scored 20 points, while Redd scored 17 points along with three steals. The game was Roberts' sixth in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Brace Brindley, who scored 14 points.
Delta now has a losing record at 2-3. As for South Sevier, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 5-2.
Delta will head out on the road to face off against Tooele at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Tooele focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 21 on Wednesday. As for South Sevier, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Richfield at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Richfield is coming into the contest on a four-game losing streak.
