Ringgold is 4-0 against Glenbrook since February of 2022 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Ringgold Redskins will square off against the Glenbrook Apaches at 7:30 p.m. Ringgold knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past five contests -- so hopefully Glenbrook likes a good challenge.
Ringgold took a loss when they played away from home on Monday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They breezed by Jonesboro-Hodge to the tune of 61-33. That looming 61-33 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Redskins yet this season.
Ringgold's win was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was KuVell Manning, who went 7 of 9 on his way to 19 points. The team also got some help courtesy of LaDaunte McCoy, who went 6 for 14 en route to 15 points and five rebounds.
Meanwhile, Glenbrook took a blow against Lincoln Prep on Tuesday, falling 72-20. While losing is never fun, the Apaches can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 290th, while the Panthers are ranked 104th).
Despite the defeat, Glenbrook saw an underclassman step up: freshman Carson Powell posted 17 points. Powell's evening made it 12 games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points.
Ringgold is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 9-19 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.0 points per game. As for Glenbrook, their loss dropped their record down to 4-14.
Rebounding is likely to be a big factor in this contest: Ringgold has been smashing the glass this season, having averaged 30.3 boards per game. However, it's not like Glenbrook struggles in that department as they've been averaging 27.2 rebounds. With both teams battling to corral missed shots, we'll see if one team can grab an edge.
Everything came up roses for Ringgold against Glenbrook in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, as the team secured a 77-20 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Ringgold since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
