Flowers has gone 9-1 against Parkdale recently and they'll look to pad the win column further on Tuesday. A feisty cat fight will be fought when the Flowers Jaguars duke it out with the Parkdale Panthers at 7:00 p.m. Flowers knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with 55 points or more in their past seven contests -- so hopefully Parkdale likes a good challenge.
Flowers saw some tournament action two weeks ago. They came out on top against Paint Branch by a score of 61-50. Given the Jaguars' advantage in MaxPreps' Maryland basketball rankings (they are ranked 35th, while the Panthers are ranked 132nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
12/21/24 vs Paint Branch | 31 |
12/19/24 @ Eleanor Roosevelt | 22 |
12/17/24 vs Suitland | 19 |
12/13/24 vs Dunbar | 34 |

Tyrell Bowles was his usual excellent self, putting up 31 points. The matchup was his 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Chuka Anagbogu, who posted 12 points.
Meanwhile, Parkdale scored the most points they've had this season on Saturday, but it wasn't enough. They took a 90-85 hit to the loss column at the hands of Chesapeake Math & IT Academy North. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game last Friday (61), the Panthers still had to take the loss.
Flowers will need focus on slowing down Isaiah Richards, one of several Parkdale players who made an impact when they last played. He went 8 of 20 on his way to 20 points. The dominant performance gave Richards a new career-high in points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alusine Mansaray, who went 8 of 12 on his way to 21 points and eight rebounds.
Even though they lost, Parkdale was working as a unit and finished the game with 13 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.
This is the second loss in a row for Parkdale and nudges their season record down to 2-5. As for Flowers, their victory bumped their record up to 6-1.
Some high-performance offense is likely on the agenda as the two teams are some of the highest scoring teams in the league. Flowers hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having averaged 67.4 points per game. However, it's not like Parkdale struggles in that department as they've been averaging 56.6 points. With both teams so easily able to put up points, the only question left is who can run the score up higher.
Flowers strolled past Parkdale in their previous meeting back in February of 2024 by a score of 78-63. Does Flowers have another victory up their sleeve, or will Parkdale turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
