Basketball Recap: D'zani Coley's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Midd-West over Northumberland Christian

Midd-West fought the good fight in their overtime matchup against Northumberland Christian on Monday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They took a 42-38 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Northumberland Christian Warriors. The Mustangs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Warriors apparently hadn't forgotten their defeat the last time these teams played back in December of 2023.

Several Mustangs players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was D'Zani Coley, who posted 20 points. Those 20 points gave Coley a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Nash Grover, who earned eight points.

Midd-West is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-4. As for Northumberland Christian, their victory was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 1-4.

Midd-West wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 68-59 loss against East Juniata on the 18th. As for Northumberland Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 56-51 win against Columbia County Christian on the 17th.
